Coleraine High School Old Girls Association held its annual Old Girls Dinner at the Lodge Hotel, Coleraine on Friday 5th May. Over 60 former CHS pupils were reunited at this event, which particularly marked the reunions of those who had left the school 10 years ago, 20 years ago, 30 years ago and 35 years ago. Representatives of the Belfast Branch of the Old Girls Association and two previous CHS headmistresses – Mrs Hutchieson and Mrs Bell – joined local committee members, reunion groups and other guests for an enjoyable evening of friendship and reminiscence.
Entertainment included a CHS style “photo booth”, with items of CHS uniform and school life available to enliven the images, as well as a display of scrapbooks of activities over the years from the Belfast Branch, and an assortment of photos and magazines from the reunion years in the spotlight. There was much laughter during the usual Heads and Tails game, and of course the dinner ended with a rendition of the school song ‘Non Nobis Domine’ – never to be forgotten by any CHS Old Girl!
Next year’s Annual Dinner will take place on Friday 4th May 2018 (TBC), again at the Lodge Hotel. Keep an eye on our website for updates.
